I've been having a lot of conversations about SaaS marketing lately and thought it would be helpful to share some new articles that I've found useful. This is not a comprehensive list by any means, just a few favourites that I have archived.
Why we are throwing away all of our lead forms and making content free - This post from Drift got a LOT of attention in the startup marketing Twittersphere and for good reason. I'm interested to see how this works for them over the long haul. (I think it's great from a customer experience point of view).
Intercom on Jobs to Be Done - The folks at Intercom put out some of the best product and marketing content on the JTBD framework. Whether you've never heard of it or you are familiar and want to learn more, this ebook is a good reference with some practical examples of how you can apply JTBD to your product and marketing decisions.
How our product update emails get a 68% response rate - Alex at Groove has been building up some great blog content over the last 3 years. This one was super interesting. It's an approach that could work for companies with <500 customers or customers with high LTV that would warrant this relatively labour-intensive approach.
A visual tour of refer-a-friend programs - I like articles that share real-life examples. This is a good roundup of referral programs for both mobile and web apps. While most of the examples are B2C, there are a handful of B2B examples.
